I paint the parts of a journey that photographs never keep

Nata Orlo is an abstract contemporary artist working in oil, cold wax and gold leaf. Her paintings begin with something small and specific — a branch, a bus window, a cup of coffee from one farm in one season — and end somewhere less nameable.

The work is made slowly, in daylight, in series. Nothing is reproduced endlessly: originals are one of one, prints are strictly editioned, and each piece is archived with its story, technique and release date.

Her practice sits between storytelling and material study. Collectors receive not only a painting, but the record of the moment it preserves.
