The story
The last one, and the darkest. Grey-violet holds the outer ring while copper and roasted amber push in toward a wide black pupil.
Technique
Oil worked outward from the pupil in long single strokes, then broken with unmixed copper and pale silver so the fibres catch light at an angle.
Inspiration
Roasted coffee cherries, low studio lamplight, and the moment a familiar gaze turns unfamiliar.
